Vogue Fashion Night Out - Paris

17th September marked the start of Fashion Week with the famous Vogue Fashion Night Out (VFNO)
VFNO is a busy event worldwide, but there is no doubt that celebrating it in some of the worlds most famous fashion streets, in the worlds fashion capital is unbeatable.

At precisely 6:00pm the already busy streets, filled to the point of suffocation. La rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, la rue Saint-Honoré, la rue Royale, la Place de la Madeleine, la rue Cambon, la Place Vendôme, la rue Castiglione, la place du marché-Saint-Honoré, la rue d’Alger and Le Palais Royal were overflowing with chic and fancy dressed folk from all around the world.

After a busy day of walking around in converse my friend and I were in no position to go out  un-showered, especially not for fashion night. Due to a series of unfortunate events entailing get locked out of our apartment, getting lost and walking for 40 minutes in the rain, we arrived looking super unstylish and not to mention wet. The question posed by my fashion marketing professor quickly popped into my mind, "Can we isolate ourselves by the way we dress?" Yes... From the hundreds of wannabes, actual V.I.Ps and just the tourists who were there by accident we definitely added to the mix wet and dying from newly formed blisters. Despite the rocky start that left us exhausted and malnourished we were soon uplifted by the free products and champagne pouring out of every store. It really was the crème de la crème and coming from Australia where one can get away unscathed wearing Ugg boots and Bintang singlets, jeans and joggers and Crocs to, it was refreshing to walk a block where fashion faux pas were non-existent.
